 
Dr. John Mellor, a Consultant Physician and Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians qualified at Leeds University in 1973. Since then, he has worked at a number of hospitals including St. James’ Hospital in Leeds ( Jimmy’s), Northwick Park in Middlesex and St. James Hospital in Dublin; he was also Lecturer in Clinical Medicine at Trinity College Dublin at that time.
He has also worked in vaccine development for the Wellcome Research Laboratories and has been involved in field studies in India and Bangladesh. An interest in ageing led to a specialist registration in Geriatric Medicine as well as General Medicine and Gastroenterology
For the past 20 years he worked at Southend Hospital as a Consultant Physician specialising in General Medicine, Care of the Elderly and Gastroenterology before leaving to further develop his Private Medical Practice. He has now added Cosmetic Services to his repertoire and very much enjoys the mix of client and patient.
Married with three children and always interested in fitness, a keen golfer, skier and motorcyclist, he still plays veterans’ soccer and is Club Doctor for the Nationwide Conference League Canvey Island football team. He ran the Dublin Marathon and has taken part in many ½ marathons over the years.
